Title: Provides point of reference on the forthcoming note, so you know what the note is about before you read it

Every note fits into at least one of four categories:

TYPE of Material: e.g. Plan specifies APA-rated sheathing, but this isn’t a product. A decision has to be made: Plywood or OSB. Both are right, but which one was chosen

QUANTITY of Material: e.g. The general notes call for the O.C.S. of the studs to be 24" o.c., but the cross-section calls for them to be 16” o.c.

BUILDING DESIGN: e.g. A beam is drawn in the plan, but is unsupported on one end. We know it won’t levitate, so a decision must be made as to what will support it!

FOR YOUR INFORMATION: e.g. Plan calls for 1-1/8” roof-decking and we are pretty sure it’s a typo on the plan, so we call 1-1/8”, but we flag it in a note so you can discuss with the builder before the product is shipped.

Items to Reference: This captures all the data we reference in making a decision, whether page numbers, details, conversations with the architect, engineer, etc.

The shipment date, tracking #, and product quantities are entered into the form for each delivery.

The Excel file is coded to automatically give you the aggregate total amount of what has been shipped and how much of each product remains to be shipped. Problems can then be identified as you go.

All material from the project is consolidated into one Excel list which is sorted by the six major purchasing categories.
1) EWP 2) Hardware 3) Lumber 4) Panel 5) Simpson 6) Misc.

Products are listed by application.

Each Usage is cross-referenced by Pack for quick comparison between levels.

Tag is the joist length, 24 = 24’, 14 = 14’, etc.

Joist sections are color-coordinated to match their corresponding schedule.
